Joan Lee Eubank Wilhelm, 88, passed to her heavenly home Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at her daughter Bonnie’s home in Gordonsville.

Born July 8, 1934, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of William “Punk” Eubank and Clara Padgett Paxton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Carlyle Wilhelm; son-in-law Wilber Lee Johnson; and grandson Raye Wilhelm.

Joan was a member of Faith Mountain Baptist Church. She retired from Virginia Military Institute as a seamstress. She loved hand-working crafts for her friends and family such as crocheting, quilting and embroidering.

Surviving are her brother, Elburn W. Eubank and wife Tye; their son Michael and his wife Gina; his sons, Ryan, Brandon and daughter Allyce of Washington state, her daughters, Bonnie Harris (Calvin) and Elise Johnson; sons, Carlyle (Terry) and David (Brenda) Wilhelm; grandchildren Michael Harris (Brandi Wilson), Christina Bennington (Jeff), Tanya Johnson, Cara Wilhelm Graham (Eric Akers), Nicole Wilhelm (Ronnie Clark), Michaela Wilhelm Hostetter (Josh Hostetter), Shana Crump (Alex Strickler), and Kimber Ross (Alex); greatgrandchildren, Justin and Megan Bennington, Raylan Graham and Asher Akers, Henry and Harrison Clark, Walker Hostetter, Rosie Crump, Khloe and Avery Ross.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. David V. Ford. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Harrison Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
