At The Ice Ball

Dancers crowd the floor as the Rockbridge Symphony plays from the side of Evans Hall at Washington and Lee University during the Rockbridge Symphony's second annual Ice Ball Jan. 18. Approximately 100 people attended ranging from high school age and beyond. "While we initially intended it to be a fundraiser, we chose to use the wonderful facilities and services of W&L's Evans Hall and Catering Service, which, while more costly, also guaranteed a handsome, spacious environment and excellent refreshments," said Jack Bissett with the Rockbridge Symphony. "So we made the decision to make it a gift to the community, a ‘friend-raiser,’ an opportunity to introduce the symphony to some music lovers who may not have been familiar with it previously. We consider it a success that we and the guests enjoyed a wonderful evening and we broke about even. We are already looking forward to and planning next year's Ice Ball."
