Horse Center Closing For Two Weeks

The Virginia Horse Center Foundation board of directors announced Tuesday that it is closing the center for a two-week period starting immediately due to the potential health risk posed by the coronavirus.

Shows this past weekend were also canceled.

“This step is necessary for the VHCF to effectively play its part in the national effort to stem the spread of this dangerous virus,” said John Nicholson, CEO.

While the office is closed, staff will be working remotely and will be available by phone or email.

“The situation is complex and evolving very quickly, and our plans may change,” said Nicholson. “We will re-evaluate the decision to close the facility as new information emerges and with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Virginia Department of Health.”
