Worship services continue each Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church with adult Sunday school class beginning at 9:45 a.m. in the upstairs fellowship hall and all other classes by Zoom and worship service following at 11 a.m. A congregational meeting elected a member-at-large, Scott Hannah, and a youth member, Katherine Lotts. This church nominating committee will be assisted by Gayle Tolley, Joanna Lotts, Tim Wilhelm, Christy Black and Kathy Gilbert to report back to the congregation with a slate of officers to serve as elders and deacons for the next three years.

High Bridge sends sympathy to our pastor and family, Jason, Dilshani, Abby and Ben Grimes, in the passing of Dilshani’s dad Samaan “Sam” Manawadu of Sri Lanka. Oct. 7. Mr. “Sam,” as he was known to all of us, visited his daughter and family several times these past years and will certainly be missed by all.

Spending a recent weekend with Todd, Audra and Nora Upchurch in Lovettsville were Audra’s parents Sam and Violet Vest and Violet’s mom, Audrey Armentrout. This was a birthday weekend celebration for Sam at the home of his daughter and family.

The Natural Bridge Ruritans have canceled the club’s annual Halloween cakewalk fundraiser held at the Natural Bridge Fire Department due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The club will be selling raffle tickets, with a drawing sometime in December. Stay tuned for more information. All club members have tickets for you to purchase with great prizes and this club does an amazing amount of good deeds during the year to benefit the community and surrounding area.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry distribution day will be Thursday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Safety precautions are taken by the volunteers. We have boxes packed and ready to be delivered to your car.
