Helen Juanita Bayne, 88, of Lexington died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born Nov. 26, 1930, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Thompson and Nelly Frances Entsminger Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burnet Bayne.  She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Helen was a member of New Grace Church of God of Prophecy, and worked as a baker at VMI.

Surviving are her five nephews, Johnny Newell, of Waynesboro, Jimmy Lee Thompson, of Florida, Jimmy Albert Thompson, of Stuarts Draft, Kenneth Lee Davis, of Lexington, and Eugene Davis, of North Carolina; and two nieces, Brenda Davis and Shirley Dixon, both of Roanoke.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Bishop Jerry Schall officiating. Friends may gather with the family for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
