Health Center Vital To Residents

Nov. 18, 2019 Editor, The News-Gazette:

I am a first-year student at Blue Ridge Community College. I have lived in Rock-bridge County for the majority of my life. I am very excited about what the new and updated Rockbridge Area Health Center will do for our community.

People will now no longer have to worry about if they themselves or their children will have their basic health needs met or not. The availability of health care to all is something I feel should be available and this is a step in that direction.

Some people are born in situations that render them unable to get out of hard times. The economic burden that health care can take on people is detrimental. When their choices of paying for food to put on the table to feed their family or their own medical needs, they are going to chose their family in most cases.

This expansion is going to help keep people in work because they will not be sick as often, get proper mental health treatment, and just assist families by keeping them afloat in at least one area of their lives.
