Hassler Found Guilty on One Federal Charge, Not Guilty on Another

LYNCHBURG— The jury of U.S. v. Gary Hassler has found Hassler guilty of falsifying a document on one count and not guilty on a second count of falsifying a document.

The verdict was reached at 1:30 p.m., finding Hassler guilty of falsifying a Rockbridge Regional Jail Incident Report by falsely reporting that inmate Robert Eugene Clark refused medical care and not guilty of falsifying a a jail medical log claiming Clark refused medication.

Hassler and his family had an emotional reaction to the verdict this afternoon. Judge Norman K. Moon set a sentencing date for Oct. 17, 2019.
