Hart Family Reunites In Rockbridge Baths

Forty three descendants of David and John Hart attended the annual Hart Reunion held on Saturday, July 27, at the Rockbridge Baths Volunteer Fire Department.

Those attending were welcomed by Co-Presidents Mary Jo Baylor, Richard Hart and Michelle Keller. Family updates were shared, and a group photograph was organized. U.S. Army chaplain Col. Robert Hart, from Fort Belvoir, led the group in prayer and the Rev. Richard Hart from Valdosta, Ga., concluded with the traditional Hart Family Blessing.

The covered- dish family meal included the essential course of summer watermelon and kicked off an afternoon spent in fellowship with friends and family and the sharing of genealogical research.

In keeping with family tradition, two arrangements of flowers were displayed at the reunion in memory of the departed descendants of David and John Hart. The two arrangements were later placed in the sanctuaries of Bethesda Presbyterian Church and New Monmouth Presbyterian Church for Sunday services.

Those attending from Lexington were Ellen Dixon, Ivan Branch, Rachel Clark, Marigold Clark, Bob and Karen Doyle and Austin Doyle.

Those attending from Rockbridge Baths were Betty Anderson; Margaret McDonald, Jane McDonald, Jay, Ella and Angie McDonald; Joy McDonald; Wallace Beckner; and Burnett and Nancy Sensabaugh.

Those attending from other parts of Virginia were Joe and June Keller of Richmond; Michelle Keller of Richmond; Norma Harris of Salem; Chuck Harris of Salem; Ron and Becky Rash of Lynchburg; Mary Jo Baylor of Norfolk; Robert and Diann Hart of Fort Belvoir; and Carol Dixon Simmons of Williamsburg.

Those attending from outside the state of Virginia were Vivian Hart of Tampa, Fla.; Rachel Hart of Vancouver, Wash.; Jessica and Patricia Lundfelt of Quaker Hill, Conn.; Jennifer Keller and Dan Perry of Raleigh, N.C.; Richard and Debbie Hart of Valdosta, Ga.; Paul Hart and Misty Sanders, Olivia Sanders, Paul and Beverly Hart, Scott Hart and Courtney Hart, all of Chesapeake, Ohio.
