Grayson Coleman gives a thumbs-up sign, along with Jason Snyder, while aboard a Buena Vista firetruck following a parade in Grayson’s honor at Glen Maury Park on Sunday. The surprise parade, organized by Leecy Fink and Robert Snyder, allowed Grayson and his mother, Buena Vista native Dawn Coleman, to see many of the people who have supported Grayson during his struggle with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Grayson and his mother, who live in Florida, are in town this week for Thanksgiving. “We continue to be blown away by the love and support from Buena Vista, Rockbridge County and Liberty University [where she attended college],” said Dawn. “It was a very special event and Grayson and I are so grateful for all the continued prayers, love and support.” She said Grayson has been cancer free for three months. “He still has lots of physical therapy to do but continues to get stronger every day,” she added.
