Georgie Louise Coffey Henson, 100, of Buena Vista died Dec. 21

Georgie Louise Coffey Henson, 100, of Buena Vista, answered her Savior’s call on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019.

She was looking forward to the call.  She has been preparing to take the trip since she was baptized Jan. 29, 1929.

Georgie was a member of the First Brethren Church for 80-plus years, where she was an active member since she taught Sunday school at the age of 16.  Georgie loved life and lived it to the fullest.  She said every day was so precious so don’t waste it.  Her motto was, “Make your reservation at your final destination, then enjoy the trip.”  She loved God, family, and friends in that order.

Georgie was married to Harry Thomas Henson, who preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage.  Her parents, Henry Moses and Mollie Oliver Coffey; eight sisters; six brothers; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Henson also predeceased her.

Surviving are son, Toney Henson; three grandchildren, Dean Henson and wife Donna, Tonya Hunt, and Troy Henson; four great-grandchildren, Meredith, Garrett and Charlotte Henson, and DeLana Huffman, and her father, Brent Huffman; five special cousins, Frances, Evelyn, Caroline, Eloise and Betty; two special sisters-in-law, Helen Coffey, Lexington; special friends, Larry Hazelwood and Judy Swoop; many wonderful nieces and nephews, thousands of friends in heaven and all over the USA. She is also survived by her loving pastor, Mike Hamilton, and family.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at First Brethren Church by the Rev. Michael Hamilton. Burial will be private.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
