George Henry McCurdy, 62, of Lexington died Monday, June 10, 2019, at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

George Henry McCurdy, 62, of Lexington died Monday, June 10, 2019, at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

Born Dec. 26, 1956, he was a son of the late Robert S. McCurdy and Ruth Ayers McCurdy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne McCurdy.

George was employed at Charlie Obaugh’s in Staunton, and had previously worked at Woody Chevrolet in Lexington.  He enjoyed NASCAR and loved his family.

George is survived by his wife, Marilyn H. McCurdy; a son, William “Will” Ryan McCurdy; sister Roberta Ayers; and brother-in-law Steve Hostetter and wife Gail, all of Lexington,

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Al Bashlor and the Rev. Aaron Tunnell.  Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery.  Friends may gather with the family from 5 to 7 Thursday June 13, 2019, at Harrison Funeral Home.
