He was born June 20, 1935, in Buena Vista, the son of the late Charles L. Stinnett and Ethel Coleman Stinnett. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, McKenzie Lucile Moore; a brother, Marshall “Squirrel” Stinnett; a sister, Dorothy S. Jarvis; a brother-in-law, Eddie “Buddy” Jarvis; and nephew, Robert “Snooks” Stinnett.

Freddie was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. He was the last living member of the Duraflex, later Reeves Brothers Softball Team. He enjoyed baseball, softball, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lawana Ginger Stinnett; daughter, Renee S. Moore (Kenny), Dobson, N.C.; son, David F. Stinnett (Beth), Glen Allen; granddaughter, Whitney B. Smith (Brian), Dobson, N.C.; three great-grandchildren whom he adored, Lydia Anne, Hannah Kate and Joshua Smith, Dobson, N.C.; brother, Joe “Buck” Stinnett; two helpers who he thought of as family, Amanda Thompson and Sharon Nelson; one niece and five nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday,Aug. 19, at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Louis Caddell and the Rev. Brian Smith officiating.
