Franklin Delano “Skipper” Camden, 77, of Lexington, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, at his home.

Born Oct. 22, 1942, in Lexington, he was a son of the late Harry Graham Camden and Katherine Elizabeth Robinson Camden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Greg Camden; grandson, Bubba Camden; and brother, Pete Camden.

Franklin was a member of Faith Mountain Baptist Church and retired from Washington and Lee University.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Smith Camden; children, DeWayne Camden (Judy), Bindi Tomlin (Phillip), Rhonda Hamilton (Troy), Brandon Camden (Dawna), Chloe Camden (two cats); sisters, Beverly Slagle, Mattie Ruley, Bonnie Rowsey, Shelby Camden, Patricia Fisher; brother, Bo Camden; eight grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; and special canine Abby.

A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 4, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. William M. Thomas officiating.

Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory. N-G
