FRANCIS WATTS

Francis Gerald Watts, 91, of Lexington went be with his Lord and Savior in the CarilionRockbridgeCommunityHospital.

He was born May 13, 1931, in Lexington a son of Andrew Watts and Ross Belle Johnson Watts. He was the last surviving member is his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years, Catherine Eldridge Watts. If you have heard of him speak about her, it was as though she was still ever present. He truly loved his Catherine aka "Teenie".

Francis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was longtime member of the FirstBaptistChurch in Lexington where he served in many roles. He was employed at the Modine Manufacturing for 25 years, and Virginia Military Institute for 20 years. In what little spare time Francis had he loved to spend it on his farm. He coached little league baseball and basketball teams.

He is survived by his children, daughter Rose Watts of Fairfield and son David Watts (Beth) of Arlington; his grandson, Matthew Watts of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at FirstBaptistChurch in Lexington by Pastor McKinney Williams. The family will receive friends on hour before service.
