FRANCES LAWRENCE

Frances Wood Lawrence, 88, of Vesuvius, passed away peacefully in her home and surrounded by family on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020. She is joyfully with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born Sept. 14, 1932, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late William H. Wood and Aire Pultz Wood.

Frances was a long-standing member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Mays and Lorene Gregory, and by a step-granddaughter, Mary Beth Hoffman.

Surviving are her husband, Kent Church Lawrence; two children, Cain Davis (Jackie) and Robin Conner (Richard L.); two stepchildren, Danny Laurence (Pam) and Ricky Laurence (Kim); six grandchildren, Quentin Davis (Kristin), Jason Davis, Scottie Davis, Patrick Davis (Mary), Richard A. Conner, and Jaime Showalter (Andrew); four step-grandchildren, Trevor Laurence (Sylvia), Abby Overstreet (David), Tricia Roberts (Bruce), and Angela Hamilton (Marc); 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Ruth Garber, Evelyn Entsminger, Faye Hanger and Barbara Derr; and brothers, William Wood Jr. and Floyd Wood. She was loved and cherished by many others.

A graveside service was conducted Sunday, Nov. 15, at Irish Creek Cemetery by Dr. Wyatt Mayes.

Arrangements were by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services. N-G
