Food Pantries All Operating, But Some As Drive-Thru Only

The following message is from the Rockbridge Feeds Hunger Coalition, a group of organizations in Rockbridge County committed to fighting hunger and food insecurity in the county.

“While the health of our neighbors remains our top priority, we know that hunger doesn’t self-quarantine,” according to the statement. “The Rockbridge Hunger Coalition remains committed to continuing to offer as many programs as possible in the coming weeks. We are coordinating with our partners, both local and regional, to make sure that all programming runs as effectively as possible. We are applying many recommendations from public health experts and government leaders with safety in mind. Up-to-date information on food distribution, meal delivery, and grocery services can be found on the Rockbridge Area Relief Association website via this link:”

As of March 16, the Rockbridge Area Relief Association’s food pantry, the mobile food pantries, and the Bridge to Hope food pantry are all operating as a drivethru at normal hours. The food pantries at Gospel Way Church of Christ and the Natural Bridge/ Glasgow Pantry are operating as normal. The Community Table is closed. Meals on Wheels and Meals for Shut-ins will operate as normal.

Anyone with concerns about being able to access food is asked to call 461-8917 and leave a detailed message.
