It certainly felt like fall at the 14th annual McCormick Farm Mill Day held at the historic Cyrus McCormick farm in Raphine Saturday. ABOVE, Sharon Herd, an interpreter from the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, tells visitors about the process of turning stalks of flax into textile fibers. TOP RIGHT, Abigail Grace Dull of Timber Ridge is fascinated by honey bees in an observation hive that the Shenandoah Beekeepers Association had on display while her sister Amelia Dull (bottom right) sets out on a pony ride. BOTTOM LEFT, musical entertainment was provided by Pat Cantrell and High Country. BOTTOM RIGHT, Jeff Brooks mans a grill filled with Raphine Volunteer Fire Company’s famous barbecue chicken.
