Eddie “Buddy” Jarvis, 83, of Charlotte, N.C., died on Friday, May 13, 2022, at his home.

He was born on June 12, 1938, in Northfork, W.Va., a son of the late Herman Lee Jarvis and late Gertrude Hanks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dot Jarvis; brother Jimmy Jarvis; and sister, Bonnie Jarvis Slough.

He is survived by his two sons, Brent (Rendee)Jarvis and Kent (Sharry) Jarvis; one granddaughter, Jessica (Andrew) Dowd; and four grandsons, Brannn Jarvis, Ryan Jarvis, Bryce Jarvis, and Shane Jarvis.

Buddy worked for Reeves Brothers for 30 years. He then worked for the church for 10 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in his church in different capacities as bishop, bishops counselor, and stake and ward clerk.

After retirement, he and Dot continued their church service as temple ordinance workers for two years and served eight years as Bishop Storehouse food coordinators. Buddy had a passion for working on model trains and enjoyed spending time with his family.

A small graveside dedication will be held at Green Hill Cemetery on Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. for those who wish to attend.
