Early Voting Underway In Special Election

Early voting is underway in the Jan. 10 special election to fill the vacancy created in the House of Delegates 24th District by the Dec. 13 death of Del. Ronnie Campbell.

Early voting is underway in the Jan. 10 special election to fill the vacancy created in the House of Delegates 24th District by the Dec. 13 death of Del. Ronnie Campbell.

Candidates listed on the ballot are Republican Ellen Campbell and Democrat Jade Harris.

In-person early voting is occurring at voting registars’ offices through this Saturday, Jan. 7. Office hours in the Rockbridge County registrar’s office are 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m. Office hours in the Lexington registrar’s office are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and in the Buena Vista registrar’s office from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m.

Polls will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The 24th District includes all of Rockbridge County, Buena Vista, Lexington and Bath County and parts of Amherst and Augusta County.
