Drive-Through Rabies Clinic Slated In Glasgow

The Glasgow Ruritan Club will sponsor a drivethrough rabies clinic at the Glasgow Lifesaving and First Aid building on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The cost is $7 for each dog or cat, with half of the proceeds donated to the rescue squad. The Natural Bridge Animal Hospital is donating staff time and the vaccines.

Pet owners will be expected to provide identification showing name and address, preferably driver’s license. For a three-year certificate, pet owners must have the certification from the previous vaccination by state law. If not, the animal will be eligible only for a one-year certificate.

Pet owners and their pets will remain in the vehicle. All leash and maintaining control of your pet laws are expected to be followed. Owners will be directed to drive into a bay, the pet will receive the injection, and the driver will be directed to exit the bay.

Cats must be in a carrier. Volunteers will take the cat in carrier into a separate room to administer the vaccine, in order to ensure the safety of the animal.
