In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Humphreys, a daughter, Carolyn A. Humphreys; a sister, Lorrene Tomlin (Bill); brothers, Harry Staton, Walter T. Staton (Elenor) and Leonard Humphreys (Shirley).
She was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren. Dorothy was retired from Knights Store.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Larry C. and Brenda Humphreys and Patrick Arnold and Lynne Humphreys, all of Roanoke; grandchildren, Chris Seth Humphreys, Ian D. Humphreys, Garth W. Humphreys, Sarah H. Oliver and Ryan Humphreys; great-grandchildren, Marcus Humphreys, Rupert John Oliver V and Desmond Josiah Oliver; sisters, Peggy Humphries (Ray) and Shirley Humphries; sister-in-law, Margaret Staton; and many other family members.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Several local teams took part in the Swinging For Samuel Slowpitch Coed Benefit Softball Tournament on Aug. 7 in order to raise money for Samuel Golladay, an 18-year-old Rockbridge County native who is fighting a type of cancer called Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
