Dorothy Smiley Horne, 89, of Glasgow died May 21

Dorothy Smiley Horne, 89, of Glasgow died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Shenandoah Valley Health and RehabCenter. 

She was born on Oct. 21, 1932, in Newville, Pa., and was a daughter of the late Harry James Smiley and Margaret James Smiley. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Horne, and sisters Mary Smiley Parker and Margaret I. Smiley.

Dorothy was a member of Glasgow Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, Clerk of Session, treasurer, Moderator of the Women and a member of the choir.  She also served on the Glasgow Centennial Park Committee.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Brongo of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brother-in-law Mike Brongo of Brooklyn, N.Y., and niece Joan Paterson and husband Mark of Aurora, Colo.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, May 27, in GlasgowCemetery by the Rev. Jerry Vaughn.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Glasgow Presbyterian Church.
