Damon Neal Woody, 53, of Natural Bridge Station passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Born Oct. 4, 1966, in Lexington, he was a son of the late Major Willis Woody and Alice Marie Higgins Woody.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Damon Woody Jr. and Major Leon Woody; and a sister, Pamela Bright.

Damon was a past member of the Rescue Squad, and previously worked in management and sales.

Surviving are his wife, Christy Nida Woody of Natural Bridge Station; daughter, Stacey Ruley and husband Markus of Lexington; son, Christopher Woody, and daughter, Danielle Woody, both of Natural Bridge Station; and brothers Mark Woody of Buena Vista, David Woody of Lexington, and Wayne Woody, of North Carolina.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Norman Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.

Friends may gather with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Harrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
