Curtis Ray Irvine, age 92, died on May 26, 2020, at Kendal in Lexington.

Curtis was born on Oct. 27, 1927, in Rockbridge County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for the U.S. Postal Service his entire career, which spanned 30 years. He will always be remembered for his love of hunting, and his prize dogs, especially “Happy.” Curtis also enjoyed gardening and was a beekeeper.

Mr. Irvine is survived by his daughter, Wanda Irvine Kirk and husband Dr. John Kirk of Atlanta); son Donald Scott Irvine of Chicago; granddaughter Pastor Amberleigh “Ally” Lee and husband Brian Lee of Pasadena, Calif.; and great-granddaughter Johanna Lee.

The family will be eternally indebted to his caregiver, Sheila Burke.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Donald Irvine; daughter Annette Irvine Simms; father James Boyd Irvine; mother Zelia Hall Irvine; and his three older brothers, Leslie, Garland and Norman.

Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will take place at a later date.
