Friday, Oct. 18 – The Parry McCluer High School football team fell 47-14 in its homecoming game against Pioneer District rival Covington on Friday night in Buena Vista.

The Blues’ offense never got going and they couldn’t contain running back Shaun Smith, who rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries for Covington (3-4 overall, 1-1 district).

Several calls in the first half went against the Blues (1-5, 1-1) and they found themselves down 26-0 at halftime.

During the halftime festivities, Cooper Braddy and Grayson Shields were crowned as PM’s homecoming king and queen.

Ty Ruley and John Snider scored TDs in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to get the Blues back in the game.

The Blues will continue district action with their final home game of the regular season next Friday at 7 p.m. against Bath County.  Before the game, the Blues will honor their 11 seniors.
