The Effinger Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the patrons of its Sep. 5 barbecue chicken dinner and those who bought tickets for its annual drawing. The barbecue sold out and proceeds from the event and the annual drawing will be used to serve the community.

The Collierstown Presbyterian Women will hold its fall meeting tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. Plans for the year’s projects and activities will be made.

The 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church is now being held in the church sanctuary. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines that are in place. Drive-in church is available for those wishing to listen to the service without coming inside. The service will be aired on YouTube and live-streamed on Facebook.

The annual “School Bag” campaign sponsored by the Collierstown Presbyterian Church will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 13. Those assembling bags or making monetary donations to cover shipping costs should bring all donations to the church no later than the 13th. Filled bags will be distributed by Church World Service in the United States and abroad. For more information, email or call the church office at 463-5918.
