The Effinger community celebrated the 74th birthday of J.D. Clemmer with a birthday parade by his home on Friday evening, May 15. Friends and neighbors joined together to drive by, drop off cards and gifts, and honk a birthday greeting.

Many thanks to the members of the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department and first responders who continue to respond to calls following procedures for EMS by the CDC, VDH, and Regional Emergency Management Task Force.

The auction of the personal property of the late Barry Deacon originally set for Saturday, May 30, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 virus. A date for the sale will be rescheduled and advertised once restrictions are lifted regarding the size of public gatherings.

The Collierstown Presbyterian Church is offering a virtual weekly Bible study using Zoom on Wednesday evenings at 7. The study is on the book of Philippians.
