Christmas Music On Menu For Area AARP Chapter

The Ladies of Mercy will perform Christmas music at this Saturday’s meeting of the Rockbridge/Glasgow AARP Chapter 2071.

The meeting will start at noon at the VFW building on U.S. 60, in front of Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

Also during the meeting, community service chairperson Deannie Hamilton will announce plans for future nursing home visits. Brenda Shafer will have a health report and Harold Kidd, legislative chairman, will give a report.

Margaret Harris will announce dates for next blood drive and report on amounts from the November blood drive held at the American Legion Building in Buena Vista.

Shirley Martin, register chairperson, will need members to list their volunteer hours.

Cathy Ayers will have door prizes and 50/50 to purchase and requests members to bring gifts for the drawings.

Lucy Jackson-Hughes, membership chairperson, continues to renew memberships this month and reminds the public that anyone 50 and over is welcome to join.

Reservations are required. Nonmembers should call Margaret Harris at 261-3907 for lunch reservation by 11 a.m. Friday.
