Choral Ensemble Readies Virtual Event

Washington and Lee University will present a virtual performance of the Choral Ensemble on Monday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. The show is free to view online at Prepared and performed under strict COVID safety precautions, the concert features the music of old favorites by Bach and Mendelssohn along with new works by Dan Forrest, Samo Vovk, and Alberto Grau. An eclectic concert featuring traditional music from Lithuania, Slovenia, Argentina, Georgia, Russia, and many other lands, the highlight promises to be the two folk wedding celebrations — “Trepute Martela” by Vaclovas Augustinas, performed by the Glee Club and Canatatrici, and Samo Vovk’s epic “Ta Na Solbici,” performed by the University Singers.
