Oct. 24 - The  Lexington/Rockbridge candidate forum hosted by the chamber of commerce Wednesday evening invited discussion from seven Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors candidates and all Senate and House of Delegates candidates at the Hampton Inn Col Alto last night.

Leslie Ayers, Charles Kostelni, Mack Smith, Jonathan Tarris and Randy Trout, contending for the Buffalo District seat on the Board of Supervisors, were present. Natural Bridge District candidate David McDaniel and South River District candidate Cathleen Archer were also at the forum. McDaniel’s opponent, Andrew Ryan, and Archer’s opponent, Bob Day, did not attend.

Candidates focused on topics related to business and economic development, discussing education, infrastructure, big business, environmental concerns and health care.

The second candidate forum sponsored by the chamber starts tonight at 6 at Parry McCluer Middle School and will feature candidates for Buena Vista and Glasgow offices.
