Buena Vista Food Bank Will Accept Food Donations

June 19, 2020

Editor, The News-Gazette:

When I said the Buena Vista Food Bank would not be accepting food anymore in my last letter on June 10, I was wrong.

A lady stopped by the food bank last Tuesday and asked if the information in the last letter was true that we would not be accepting canned or packaged dry food. I said we would rather have checks and I explained why.

She said that they were a small church and a few people liked bringing a can or two once in a while and when they had accumulated a bag or two, they would drop it off. I quickly informed the lady that, yes, we would still be accepting glass, cans and packaged dry food. But, not too exotic or out of date please.

So, please collect your food and drop it off at our office at 1553 Sycamore Ave., Suite A, on any Tuesday between 10 a.m. and noon. We are in the building to the right of the yellow gates where you enter Auto Recyclers LLC. Paul Palma has been very gracious to provide the office space rent free. And may God continue to bless us all in our work for Buena Vista citizens.
