BRIAN HEFFNER

Brian Donald Heffner, 58, of Vesuvius, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born July 18, 1961, in Ohio, he is the son of Karl Heffner and Judi Weed Smith, and step-father, Wendell Smith.

He was a retired executive chef at James Madison University. Brian loved to make rolls for the community which evolved into his “Bread Mission”. He was known as the MBM (Midnight Baker Man). He loved the outdoors, riding his Harley, fishing, campfires, family and fellowship. Brian was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Heffner; children, Grayson John Heffner, Lauren Kathleen Heffner, and Lucas Michael Minor; sister, Brenda Swanger; brother, Brett Heffner; and half-sisters, Karla Heffner Huffman and Maria Sulzer.

All services will be private. Memorial contributions in Brian’s memory can be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice.
