Blues Routed By Narrows In Opener

Monday, March 1 – The Parry McCluer High School football team suffered a 32-0 loss to Pioneer District rival Narrows in its season opener on Monday night in Buena Vista.

The Fighting Blues had no answer for Narrows quarterback Reid Bowman, who rushed for three touchdowns on the muddy field and passed for two scores. For the game, Bowman rushed for 181 yards on 25 carries.

The Green Wave (2-0) took a 6-0 in the first quarter and extended it to 20-0 by halftime. Narrows scored a touchdown in each of the final two quarters to put the game out of reach.

The Blues recovered three Narrows fumbles but were unable to capitalize, and PM committed two turnovers, both on fumbles.

PM will continue district action at home against Covington on Saturday at 1 p.m.
