In its first competition of the season, the Parry McCluer High School wrestling team traveled to James River for a dual meet in Buchanan, and the teams treated the meet more like a practice than a match. The last time the Fighting Blues had been on the mat against another team was at the Class 1 state tournament last February.
Last winter was a rebuilding season for the Parry McCluer High School girls basketball team, following the Lady Blues’ three consecutive Class 1 state championships from 2017-19.
The Southern Conference postponed both of Virginia Military Institute’s men’s basketball games that were scheduled to take place last week due to positive COVID-19 tests.
