The 22nd-ranked Virginia Military Institute football team defeated Wofford 31-23 to win its Southern Conference opener and improved to 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Foster Stadium in Lexington. AT TOP NEAR RIGHT, VMI senior running back Korey Bridy receives a handoff from redshirt freshman quarterback Collin Ironside. Bridy rushed for a career-high 171 yards and scored two touchdowns, and Ironside had a big game for VMI in his first career start, completing 18- of-22 passes for 183 yards and two TDs.
