Rockbridge area residents are being requested to provide input on what they would like to see at Jordans Point Park. Now that the dam has been removed and the Maury River is flowing past the point unimpeded, Lexington city planners want local citizens to participate in a process to formulate a collective vision for the future of the point.
Let’s see if I have this right. The county of Rockbridge and the counties of Arlington and Fairfax are in the same state. Or so I’m told. In Rockbridge there were two heavily attended public meetings on firearms. Most spoke against additional gun control laws. Others wanted no such laws. Meanwhile, commonwealth’s attorneys for two Northern Virginia counties declared that they would not prosecute certain drug charges.
Raucous parties that draw hundreds of Washington and Lee University students to the pole houses on Furrs Mill Road are once again disturbing the peace and tranquility of nearby residential neighborhoods.
