Volunteers with the Rockbridge Area Master Gardener Association (RAMGA) do great work across Rockbridge, Lexington, and Buena Vista. Even at the height of the p a n d e m i c many volunteers ventured out to maintain projects and contribute to education and outreach efforts to which RAMGA was committed. But of course the pandemic limited what RAMGA volunteers could do and as the worst risks of the pandemic recede RAMGA has quickly returned to its constructive role in making our community a more beautiful and joyful place.
One could say that Echelon Resources Inc. opened up a can of worms in January when it offered an unsolicited proposal to Lexington to purchase the city’s Spotswood Drive property and construct high-rise, upscale apartment buildings. The proposal prompted passionate responses from citizens – mostly negative – about the scale of the project and the part of the plan that called for razing the Piovano Building.
There’s a lot of sand being raised about “Critical Race Theory.” I’m not sure just exactly what legitimate threat “Critical Race Theory” poses, and from what I’ve been able to glean from various reports from school board meetings featuring irate parents raising objections to it, I’m not sure they know either.

He was one of four national finalists in the magazine’s B’laster Instructor of the Year contest, the grand prize for which ended up going to a California teacher.
