Dec. 10, 2022 Editor, The News-Gazette: On Sunday evening, Dec. 4, my wife and I had the privilege of attending “An Evening of Readings and Carols” at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Dec. 9, 2022 Editor, The News-Gazette: I’d like to offer words of high praise for an event that took place Dec. 5: the Irma Thompson Educators of Color Rededication Celebration at the Lexington Community Center.
It is encouraging that Lexington government officials are not letting the city’s comprehensive plan collect dust – that the planning document adopted last year has not just been put aside on a shelf somewhere to await its next statemandated update. No, an effort is underway by city officials and a group of interested citizens to galvanize local resources to implement the green infrastructure chapter of the comprehensive plan.
Dec. 12, 2022 Editor, The News-Gazette: On Oct. 10, 1890, a community of believers was called to form Glasgow Presbyterian Church. Through 132 years the church has faithfully worshipped in the Presbyterian Reformed tradition.
Dec. 5, 2022 Editor, The News-Gazette: This Thursday the Lexington Planning Commission will hold a hearing to review the Echelon Resources application for a conditional use permit for the city-owned property on Spotswood Drive (Spotswood Project).
Nov. 30, 2022 Editor, The News-Gazette: There is so much to be grateful for in this season of renewal and thanks. This year, I am especially thankful for those of past and present who have planted, nurtured, and loved the majestic shade trees that contribute to our enjoyment of Lexington.
