Washington and Lee University’s Ryan Brindle, assistant professor of cognitive and behavioral science, and Dave Pfaff, senior academic technologist and director of the IQ Center, were both honored with individual awards at the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges’ (VFIC) annual Fall Luncheon and Harris Family Awards Presentation in Richmond on Thursday, Nov. 2.
United Way of Rockbridge, Lexington and Buena Vista worked with 15 local businesses in its annual book drive to collect 859 new and gently used children’s books between Sept. 25 and Oct. 13.
Jaden Nelson of Buena Vista has been awarded a fellowship worth $8,500 by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi ‒ the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Nelson is one of 62 recipients nationwide to receive a Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship.
