Political strategist and social entrepreneur Tolu Olubunmi, Washington and Lee University class of 2002, will deliver the inaugural International Day of Peace address at W&L on Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m. The title of her talk is “Peace on Earth: From Platitudes to the Practicality of the Peace Agenda.”
Students of all ages are invited to use the Rockbridge Regional Library’s outdoor study space in Lexington called the Learning Hub. “Fresh air, a covered shelter, picnic tables and WiFi access make the Learning Hub a perfect change of scenery for virtual and at-home learners,” said a spokeswoman. Mary Anne Franks, professor of law and Dean’s Distinguished Scholar at the University of Miami School of Law, will deliver this year’s Constitution Day address at Washington and Lee University this Thursday, Sept. 17, at 5:30 p.m. The title of her talk is “The Cult of the Constitution.”
Pianist Anna Billias and baritone Gregory Parker will present a recital entitled “Sounds of the Seasons” on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 3 p.m. The performance will be livestreamed at https://livestream.com/wlu.

Historic Lexington Foundation announced on Sept. 6 that it is providing financial assistance to help in the rehabilitation of a Brownsburg area slave dwelling. The structure is on Verdant Acres, the farm of John and Mary Pedersen.
