Church activities for New Monmouth Presbyterian Church are suspended in order to help keep our community healthy. Though traditional worship services will not take place, we are a people who can worship our Lord wherever we are. Even in the midst of much uncertainty, may our days be filled with prayer, singing, worshipping Jesus and loving our neighbors in creative ways. Please check in on each other - we are a community and we need to continue to support and encourage one another.

Chief Deputy Tony McFaddin of the Rockbridge County Sheriffs Office read to the third-graders in his wife, Becky’s, class at Central Elementary School part of the school’s Read Across America activities. He brought with him the McFaddins’ pet dog Gunner.

The “Two’s” group from Yellow Brick Road made a visit to Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital recently to put a poster on the children’s wall reading “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.” Their hand prints bordered the poster.

`A Fond Farewell

The Washington and Lee University Orchestra will present its final concert of the season, “A Fond Farewell,” on Thursday, March 26, at 8 p.m. in Wilson Concert Hall. No tickets are required. The program centers around Francis Poulenc’s Concert for Two Pianos in D Minor featuring Dr. Shuko Petty and Dr. Timothy Gaylard, pianos. This performance will be Gaylard’s featured farewell in musical form as he will retire at the end of the academic year. The University Orchestra will send him off with Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 “Farewell.”
