All High Bridge Presbyterian Church services continue to be canceled until further notice. Our pastor, the Rev. Jason Grimes, continues to send the weekly sermon to members and request we pass the peace to our members each Sunday.

The beauty shops are now closed. Angie Clark closed her dog grooming business this week until further notice. Scottos Restaurant is open for takeout only. If possible, order something to go and support him and keep his business afloat during these times. Grocery stores are open for your essential needs.

Local churches are continuing to take steps to slow the spread of coronavirus while also still providing services to churchgoers. Faith Baptist Church, pastor Terry Bostic presiding, regularly live-streams their Sunday services on Facebook and has recently started “drive-in” services. Members attend church in their vehicles with their windows down while the pastor preaches from the porch. You can watch these services anytime at facebook.com/faithbaptistchurchnaturalbridgestation.

Worshipping Drive-In Style As Area Churches Get Creative

With regular church services out of the question during this time of social distancing, several area churches are starting to offer “drive-in” style services where residents can remain in their cars while gathered to listen to a service either over a loud speaker or radio or both. Two of those churches on Palm Sunday were the Freedom Church west of Lexington and Lexington Foursquare Gospel Church north of Lexington. Providing music at the two services were Kevin Wallace (at immediate left, top) at Foursquare Gospel and Daniel Floyd (below) at Freedom Church. Collecting the offering at Freedom Church was (at left) Dustin Parker. Packets with information, gloves and wipes were also distributed at Freedom Church (at far left, second from bottom). Grace Episcopal Redesigning For New Pipe Organ

Montréal-based Casavant Frères, the largest pipe-organ builder in the world, is constructing a new pipe organ for Grace Episcopal Church, to be installed by late summer 2021 in a re-designed sanctuary.
