Easter Fun

Even though egg hunts and games weren’t a community thing this Easter, area families improvised at home. ABOVE, Evan and Dalton Hanes played “Pin the tail on the Bunny” among their activities. BELOW, 10-month-old London Camden and his 5-year-old brother Luca hunt eggs in their yard. These were among the photos posted on The News-Gazette’s Facebook page.

Easter Parade

Since Glasgow area children couldn’t come to see the Easter bunny this year, the Glasgow Fire Department brought the Easter bunny to them in an Easter afternoon parade of fire vehicles up and down the streets of the town, complete with sirens. Easter At Glen Maury

Glen Maury Park’s long-standing Easter egg hunt tradition was interrupted this year by the coronavirus pandemic, but a drive-thru event brought a large number of area residents to the park Saturday to receive Easter baskets. Millie Sizer, administrative assistant, with some help this year from other park employees, had filled 4,000 eggs with candy and then on Saturday handed out over 150 baskets and buckets. Eight donated bikes, won by children who had registered online for a drawing, were also given away. (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos)

Easter At Glasgow Baptist

The parking lot of the Glasgow Baptist Church was filled with about 40 vehicles Sunday morning for the church’s “drive-thru” Easter service. Sporting a plaid bandana to guard against the spread of COVID- 19, the Rev. Bryon LePere (left), pastor of Buena Vista Baptist Church, presents a lilly to Stuart George on Easter morning.
