The congregation of New Monmouth Presbyterian Church spent a beautiful morning worshiping together outdoors on Sunday morning at 11. Next week we will gather at the same place at the same time. All are welcome.

High Bridge

High Bridge Presbyterian Church worship services continue each Sunday with adult Sunday school class beginning at 9:45 a.m. in the upstairs fellowship hall; all other classes are livestreamed on Zoom. Worship service follows at 11. All safety issues still continue with wearing of masks and social distancing and hand sanitizer stations are in place.

The city won’t be hosting the downtown Buena Vista Spooktacular Friday, Oct. 30, but Halloween festivities aren’t totally called off for the day.

Trees are turning throughout the Rockbridge area, and N-G readers have been out taking photos of the fall colors. The newspaper is asking readers to submit their fall colors photos over the coming weeks to editor@ thenews-gazette. com. Community Table volunteers hand out meals at the biweekly drive-thru takeout supper Oct. 12. The meals are served by volunteers through car windows, one packaged meal per person in each vehicle.
