Santa – riding in a horse-drawn carriage – paid a visit to the Collierstown area Friday afternoon to meet with some of the children he’ll be dropping in on Christmas Eve. The community’s five churches – Collierstown Baptist, Collierstown Presbyterian, Collierstown United Methodist, Mt. Horeb United Methodist and Oxford Presbyterian –hosted the event in the field across from the Effinger firehouse and gave out treats, Gideon Bibles and other items to the approximately 55 children who attended. Children were also able to turn in prayer requests that they had, as well as leave letters for Santa in a North Pole mailbox. Brian Crockett, Ingleside Dairy and Cattleman’s Market covered Santa’s expenses, and Charlie Potter donated the use of his field. (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos)
