Ray Blouin of Rockbridge County said he was unpacking his car to get his instruments out after playing at last Wednesday morning’s jam at Grace Presbyterian Church when a young, female deer showed up and nuzzled up to him and then stuck her head in his car. He said he and his wife nicknamed her Bambi but then heard that their neighbor way down their very rural road had already named her Violet. “Said deer is totally not afraid in our presence,” he wrote. “We don’t feed her anything. Ha! I reckon she likes banjo music.”
