The Fairfield Elementary Destination Imagination team won a first place in the combination regional and state DI competition on March 19 in Mechanicsville.
Donna Pagnam goes to Waddell Elementary School three times a week to work with children in the school as a representative of the “Too Good for Drugs” program.
Five bags of trash were picked up in just over ½ mile on Wesley Chapel Road by the Wesley Chapel cleanup crew during the annual community roadside cleanup sponsored by the Rockbridge Area Conservation Council. The crew separated out the material to be recycled, hauling close to 50 pounds of glass bottles. Former Buena Vista Mayor Harold Kidd was appointed by City Council March 17 to serve on the Planning Commission. His four-year term begins July 1. He will take the seat currently held by Mike Ohleger, who did not seek reappointment.
