During the children’s sermon, the (Hope) Advent candle was lit by the children. A reception to welcome the new pastor was held after worship in the fellowship hall.
The Blue Forest Theatre Academy is undertaking its inaugural venture into adult community theater with a presentation of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8 and 9, at 7 p.m., in Virginia Military Institute’s Marshall Theater.
The Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington will host a family gift-making extravaganza on Dec. 13 and 14 from 4 to 5 p.m. Projects will include sweater mittens, personalized key rings, hand-decorated wind chimes, and fruit and veggie refrigerator magnets.
