An estimated 800 area residents turned out for the “Stand Up for Justice, Love, and Equality” event Monday in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy. The socially distanced event, in which people stood on the streets of downtown Lexington, many with signs, replaced the traditional MLK community parade this year sponsored by the Community Anti-Racism Effort of Rockbridge (CARE).
