Edward "Ed" Jenkins, 96, of Natural Bridge Station died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Shenandoah Valley Health and Rehab.

Edward "Ed" Jenkins, 96, of Natural Bridge Station died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Shenandoah Valley Health and Rehab.

Born Oct. 10, 1921, in Big Island, he was a son of Elisha Lawrence Jenkins and Mamie Hensley Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mery Wilcher Jenkins, three sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Jenkins worked at Burlington Industries and was a member of Arnolds Valley Southern Baptist Church.

Surviving are his three children, Barbara Campbell of Natural Bridge Station, Linda Carter of Natural Bridge, and Edward Jenkins of Roanoke; sisters, Lelia Johnson and Katie Mason, and brother, Marvin Jenkins, all of Natural Bridge Station; two grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Terry Bostic and the Rev. Donald Stine. Burial will follow at the Hill Family Cemetery in Natural Bridge Station.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.
